Clara Chow, Principal, is the founder of Cura Consulting Group. Clara has an extensive background in green entrepreneurship, covering an array of endeavors in management and sustainable development. She specializes in strategic planning, restructuring, marketing, and policy development. Her work encompasses a framework for sustainable enterprise and an integrated process to analyze market and non-market performance for investment and acquisition proposals. Her restructuring leadership comprises of mapping out of a new organization design for a global company in the telecommunication space as well as evaluations of operational schemes for a multi-state firm in the financial sector. Some of her engagements in sustainability are: industry analyses to commercialize innovative technologies for emerging waste reclamation companies; marketing srategy for ecotourism; and business development for cleantech start-ups. Also, in partnership with GfK North America, her projects include: customer value and positioning analysis for one of the largest international express delivery companies as well as assessments to measure the awareness and effectiveness of federal outreach and communication programs.

Prior to founding Cura Consulting Group, Clara was part of the management team at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). She held senior positions at the EPA Headquarters and at the agency's Boston and San Francisco regional offices. At the EPA, Clara created a planning process that became a national model. This pioneering process combined enforcement and pollution prevention programs to promote sustainable results while optimizing workforce performance. She was also responsible for overseeing more than 150 administrative, civil, and judicial enforcement actions brought under the Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water Acts. Her risk assessment expertise supported landmark Superfund litigations and the development of exposure standards for hazardous waste permits under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.

Clara continues to lecture domestically and internationally at universities, non-governmental organizations, and governmental forums on a variety of topics relating to green entrepreneurship and sustainability. She was honored in EPA's Commemorative Poster of Contemporary Women Scientists and Engineers for "Making a Difference In Environmental Protection" and as one of the Top 50 Women in Science by the National Technical Association.

Clara is a Sloan Fellow graduate with a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management. She has a Masters in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tufts University.
